feelin' hot hot hot!

today was hot!

it was as hot as many of the days in malawi - i kid thee not.

wilting squash plants, sweating people, lazing snakes/lizards, withered flowers and much more.....brilliant!

what a perfect day to be working on/in a greenhouse! whilst the little greenhouse was reaching temperatures of 48 degrees c we were working in the sun on the uber-greenhouse in heat not too much lower - in case you haven't picked up on my meaning - it was warm!

by 17:00 we'd called it a day and were sat in just shorts (ok, not nikki) and spraying each other with the hosepipe to cool down whilst having a beer in the sweltering evening heat and laughing about how lucky we are to live here.

the little greenhouse is full to bursting-point and we're hoping to get the uber-greenhouse finished in the next couple of days so that we can relieve the increasing pressure.

i will try and get round to taking some photos of the vegetable garden tomorrow as things are starting to kick-off there too!

here's some more images we've taken for your viewing pleasure:

a real nice close-up of a bee:

some beetle-lovin':

another different crazy looking moth - a beautiful little thing:

and finally, a pretty flower:

ok, that'll do.

there's the ardechoise road bike race tomorrow (260km with over 6000m of height gain - hardcore - well, as hardcore as girly road biking gets!) which we might walk down the hill to watch and i'm still deciding whether or not to enter a pretty nasty/difficult looking mountain bike endurance event next weekend - we'll see???

be good and see you soon.

gairy.
